چکیده

We present results of the solution of hydrodynamic equations of a two-component radiatively driven stellar wind with an inclusion of the frictional force. The temperature of the wind is assumed to be equal to the effective temperature of the star. We found that for the case of late B stars the stellar wind does not decouple, but its terminal velocity is lowered with respect to the one-component solution. This effect is a consequence of the radiative force dependence on the velocity gradient, which is inherent to the CAK model using the Sobolev approximation. For hot B star and O stars there is no significant difference between one and two-component solutions.

A hydrodynamic scheme for two-component winds from hot stars

Aims. We have developed a time-dependent two-component hydrodynamics code to simulate radiatively-driven stellar winds from hot stars. Methods. We use a time-explicit van Leer scheme to solve the hydrodynamic equations of a two-component stellar wind. Dynamical friction due to Coulomb collisions between the passive bulk plasma and the line-scattering ions is treated by a time-implicit, semi-ana...

modeling of coronal X - ray spectraV . One - and two - loop model tting of G - type star ROSAT / PSPC

As part of a systematic study devoted to the diagnostic of solar-like coronal structures in late-type stars, we have analyzed ROSAT/PSPC X-ray spectra of eight main sequence G-type stars in the solar neighborhood. We have tted the X-ray spectra adopting two diierent classes of models: the usual two-component isothermal models and the more physically meaningful hydrostatic loop models. The two-c...

The effect of variation of stellar dispersion velocities by the galactic latitude in interpreting gravitational microlensing observations

Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy and its stars are mostly in a thin disk and rotate around the galactic center. The vertical component of the dispersion velocity of stars is a function of the galactic latitude and decreases with increasing it. In the galactic Besancon model, this dependence is ignored and they just consider the dependence of dispersion velocity on the stellar age. Becanson model i...

Simulations of Winds of Weak-lined T Tauri Stars: the Magnetic Field Geometry and the Influence of the Wind on Giant Planet Migration

By means of numerical simulations, we investigate magnetized stellar winds of pre-main-sequence stars. In particular we analyze under which circumstances these stars will present elongated magnetic features (e.g., helmet streamers, slingshot prominences, etc). We focus on weak-lined T Tauri stars, as the presence of the tenuous accretion disk is not expected to have strong influence on the stru...

The Effects of Clumps in Explaining X-ray Emission Lines from Hot Stars

It is now well established that stellar winds of hot stars are fragmentary and that the X-ray emission from stellar winds has a strong contribution from shocks in winds. Chandra high spectral resolution observations of line profiles of O and B stars have shown numerous properties that had not been expected. Here we suggest explanations by considering the X-rays as arising from bow shocks that o...
